      Our sleep need shorten when we age. According to NHS, adult requires 7 – 9 hours sleep, whereas children require 9 – 13 hours, toddlers and babies need more than that. As for sex difference, I believe there is no consensus, some studies suggesting there is no sex different in sleep disorders prevalence but sleep variations could be related to endocrinological changes in the body, so there might be a sex difference.
