• Question: If you discovered how to make humans hibernate, would you start hibernating at that moment or would you let another person to go first?

      Hi, thanks for the question..

      Well I am interested in making humans do something a bit like hibernation for very specific reasons: I think it might help them to survive being very sick on the intensive care unit, and also it would be useful to be able to make them do it during long-distance space travel (like if we ever try to send people to mars).

      I wouldn’t expect to use it to make people hibernate who weren’t either in hospital or in a spaceship..!

      I’m not sure whether I would like to go to mars, but I definitely would prefer not to be a patient on the intensive care.Having said that, lots and lots of people say to me that they would love to be able to hibernate – especially now winter is coming!
