Good question, I think I should explain that Sleeping more than 9 hours a night is bad as you sleep less than 5 hours a night, so sleeping more is harmful as you sleep less. The longest sleep time depends how sleep deprived you are. if you did not sleep for 24 hours you may sleep for 12-14 hours before waking up. but I strongly encourage you not to try this because sleeping long hours has been associated with some heart diseases. It also worth mentioning that if you sleep deprived yourself for a day or two, you can’t “really” compensate for that within short period of time. There have been some experiments done in human where they sleep deprived them totally for two day(no sleep at all), and then allowd them to sleep for 10 hours. in this experiment they did some memory test before and after the sleep deprivation and found that it takes up to several days until you achieved the same results of that memory test that you were on before the sleep deprivation. So on your exam periods try to get enough sleep, because if lost on one night it might affect your performance on the nights after. I don’t want scare you at all, but just be aware of that. let me know on the comment below if you have further questions.
