      Hi NapTimeMiguel – Well certainly Alcohol is one of the worst drinks for sleep. The problem is that alcohol will make you sleepy and some people who find it difficult to sleep will regularly use it to help them. However, the sleep that people get after drinking a lot of alcohol is really bad – people drinking alcohol before bed are much more likely to wake up in the middle of the night and the sleep that they get in the first part of the night will not be that great either. In terms of the best drink, great question, probably not coffee as that can keep us awake! I would say water…keeping hydrated is just as important at night as it is in the day. There is also some evidence that tart cherry juice can help with sleep as it contains a large amount of a hormone (melatonin) which makes us sleepy…
